You can get the game to launch through the Sierra launcher without crashing, but you'd have to delete or rename Steam's overlay. I also had the same crashing problem with it due to the DDraw wrapper not being able to be applied properly when the Steam overlay hooks tried to apply, resulting in some interesting errors with my DisplayPort-only g-sync monitor. I had to do the same thing with the Sierra Launcher, glad you managed easily enough. That did the trick and I can now run the modded game, albeit I haven't got a freakin clue what half the patch settting are for. Rather than renaming the folder after installation, I just edited the SierreLaunch.ini file and changed the "Game1Path=Arcanum\" setting to "Game1Path=Arcanum Multiverse Edition\". That caused a lunch error as it couldn't find the "Config.exe". I had a slight hiccup with the AME guide's instructions I wasn't clear that I had to manually overwrite the final "\Arancum Multiverse Edition" folder in the installation path setting with "\Arcanum". It worked immediately and I successfully downloaded the patch. No worries - it wasn't working with Bittorrent so I just downloaded uTorrent instead, which has the option for associating magnet files at installation. Anywho, give it a go and let me know if it works. I just put the hash from the guide at the end of the URN protocol. They often specify a tracker within the URN, but magnet links are capable of going trackerless, one of the big points of using magnet hashes in the first place.
